OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE - August 6, 2008, Greenville, South Carolina – Origin Skateboarding, manufacture of Origin Skate Trucks has merged with Celtic Skateboards and Sentury Wheels, companies owned by Micah Stancil.
The merger of Origin, Celtic, and Sentury further signifies the popularity and presence of skateboarding on the East Coast. “Skateboarding is not just a California scene. We’ve got some excellent skaters on the East Coast that deserve the attention mainly given to skaters on the West Coast and through this merger we hope to bring that attention not only to the skaters but to the entire area.” Micah Stancil, shareholder and Origin team manager.
Origin owners Richard Wooten and Todd Palmer have developed a truck designed for performance. The trucks have a 40% larger grinding area and no weight increase over standard trucks. The larger grinding area allows skaters to lock into tricks easier and with more stability than standard trucks.
